DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically positioned and placed into your jawbone beneath the gums. Because the lightweight and strong titanium implants fuse so readily to your jawbone they provide stable, lifetime support for artificial or prosthetic teeth. Implants can be done for a single tooth, multiple individual teeth, to secure a bridge over multiple teeth and to securely anchor dentures.
Dental implants deliver major advantages when compared to other restorations:
- Dr. Thomas’s dental implants with CEREC restorations are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth
- A dental implant offers a permanent solution to tooth loss
- A dental implant functions much like a real tooth, working to keep the dental arch form and your other natural teeth in place to better assists you in chewing, speaking and smiling
- Dental implants provide the jaw bone with needed stimulation to maintain bone you have
- Dental implants are stronger and more durable, thus last much longer than many other dental restorations – they do not decay because they are made of titanium, not natural tooth material
- Unlike a bridge, no adjacent teeth need to be prepared or ground down to hold your new replacement tooth/teeth in place
- Dental implants work really well to improve or maintain a beautiful smile and functionality
- Dental implants are also readily applicable to dentures for superior, long-term functionality
